About the Rabbinical Court of Azerbaijan
The Rabbinical Court of Azerbaijan, was founded in 2023 by Dayan Rabbi Yaakov Hotoveli and the Chief Rabbi and Chairman of Sephardi Jewish community of Baku Rabbi Zamir Isayev.
The Rabbinical Court of Azerbaijan was recognized by the “Committee for Recognation in Courts Aboard” for Conversions and Divorce by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
The Jewish religious court is the most important body in Jewish public life, which helps members of the Jewish community live in accordance with Jewish law and tradition. The court's jurisdiction extends to all areas of life from birth to burial: confirmation of Jewishness, adoption of Judaism (giyur), weddings, divorces, kashrut and religious professions/specialties, circumcision, mikvahs (ritual pools), funeral services, Din Torah (litigation on disputes between individuals), and so on.
The decisions of the Rabbinical Court are recognized throughout the Jewish world and, in certain cases, are recognized in secular courts and organizations in other countries.
The head of the Rabbinical Court of Azerbaijan is Dayan Rabbi Yaakov Hotoveli, who is also the head of rabbinical Court of Austria and the Chech Republic , also he is a member of European Rabbinical Court.
